CDCE62005: AUX ref source of CDCE62005

Hello all,

We are planning to use CDCE62005 in one our design for clock synthesis purpose. can we use a TCXO at LVCMOS output at 'AUX in' input of the device instead of crystal?

this is required because the designed hardware is going to be used under severe temperature variations. also phase noise requirement of the source is high.

your views?

Hello Ravi

I would recomend to use Primany input or secondary input for the TCXO . The AUX input is specially designed for Xtals with the OSC circuit on-chip.

In that case, can i keep the AUX pin floating or i need to tie it to GND with 1Kohm resistor.

Hello Mr. Puneet, I have one more question related to the clock source to Pri_ref/Sec_ref that, can i use a clipped sine wave output TCXO in place of LVCMOS output TCXO?

Coz, am getting more clipped sine wave parts than LVCMOS parts.

what are your views on this.

Hi Ravi

You can use clipped sine wave parts as long as they meet the VIL & VIH specifications of the CDCE62005 inputs.
