LMX2485: EVAL board can not be found

Hello

My customer had been using MB15E03SL(Cypress(Fujitusu)) fro their portable radio, but MB15 became EOL.

They are considering to replace FY2018 model now.

I had suggested customer LMX2485, but I could not find EVAL board in TI website now.

Would you please advise how to design/evaluation for LMX2485 now?

Please advise.

Hi Kanji,

Please use LMX2485E EVM user's guide. Basically LMX2485E is same as LMX2485 except that the E-version supports lower VCO frequency.

For the LMX248x family, all devices are pinout compatible. As for software and performance, there are reallyr two "subgroups" of boards. Within a subgroup, the devices also have the same performance and programming; only differences in guaranteed electrical specs and testing.

Subgroup #1

LMX2485Q, LMX2485E, LMX2485

Subgroup#2

LMX2486, LMX2487, LMX2487E

As there are two subgroups, we offer the LMX2485E and LMX2487E so that customers can find a board that has the expected performance and program as whatever version of the device they want. So if you want the LMX2485, you can order the LMX2485E and get a part that has the same performance and programming. However, the LMX2485E might cost more as we test it to more stringent limits. Nevertheless, there is a way to see the performance you would expect.

However, for your question, you have the LMX2487E, which is not the same as the LMX2485. It is very similar, but it does not go as low in frequecy, because the prescaler is different.
