TPL5110: Using EN/ONE_SHOT as enable without power cycle?

Part Number: TPL5110

Is it safe to use EN/ONE_SHOT pin as an active high enable pin if I only care about timer mode and don't mind getting  an extra one shot pulse when "disabled"?

In our application, that pin will go high when pulses are needed and go low when not, all the while power is present. Testing it on EVM it seems to behave as expected, but the user guide says to power cycle to reset sequence. Is that only to assure the one shot part gets generated on mode change?
