LMX2485E: use LMX2485E as frequency counter

Part Number: LMX2485E
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2485, USB2ANY, LMX2487E, LMX2487E-EVM, USB2ANY-UWIRE

Hello

My customer intends to use LMX2485E as frequency counter in place of Fujitsu MB15F72UL which is LTB situation.

App is  FY2018 radio equipment.

Here is question again.

Q1

I could not find the path from IF N divider to Ftest/LD in the LMX2485 data sheet

block diagram, but this path exists as MUX[3:0] = 1101 ? Please confirm

Q2

Customer think replacement  from Fujitusu to LMX2485E seems available,

but strongly need LMX2485E EVM now. ( LMX2485E EVM and also USB2ANY is  obsolete now, and to modify LMX2487E is so hard )

Would you please when new EVM is available? Or would you please let me know the

alternative way ?

Sorry to bother you again.

Best Regards

  • Kanji,

Yes, the path exists for all those 16 signals in Table 30, and 1101 corresponding to IF N Divider divided by 2.

Very coincidently, LMX2485E-EVM is going through an internal update so isn't available on the store now. Since it looks like they are only using the function of the MUX getting IF N divider, LMX2487E has the same blocks and will perform this function the same. Would they like to try the LMX2487E-EVM instead?
