LMK04828: About other functions when HOLDOVER function is disabled

Part Number: LMK04828

Hello,

My customer has a question about LMK04828.

[Q]

(1)If HOLDOVER_EN is disabled, will HOLDOVER_HITLESS_SWITCH, HOLDOVER_LD_DET, and HOLDOVER_PLL1_DET function be automatically disabled?

(2)Even if the HOLDOVER_EN function is disabled, why does LOCK of PLL1 come off if HOLDOVER_HITLESS_SWITCH, HOLDOVER_LOS_DET, HOLDOVER_PLL1_DET are set to enabled?
    The conditions are as follow
    CLKin:15.36MHz
    VCXO:122.88MHz
    PFD(PLL1):1.024MHz
    Loop Band Width:330Hz
    phase margin:70

  • Kaede,

    1) Making HOLDOVER_EN=0 doesn't automatically turn off the other bits, just will not allow performing the holdover function
    2) Because of that mentioned above, if you just do HOLDOVER_EN=0 with all the other bits equal to 1, they are still trying to operate.

If you completely turn off holdover and its functions with all those bit equal to 0, you don't see the lock come off right?
