I would appreciate clarification regarding the SYNC function.
1. It is stated that the SYNC function enables a deterministic delay between the rising edge of the OSCIN and the output signal.
Now, in case my design does not require a deterministic delay, can I simply not use this feature?
because, the figure 26 suggests that in some cases (categories) SYNC is required. In those cases, does that mean that SYNC is required in order to obtain deterministic latency or that it is required regardless of the need for deterministic latency.
2. On figure 26 of the datasheet, in a category 1 balloon, it is stated: "SYNC Mode Required. No Software/Pin SYNC Pulse required." How does that make sense? I would think that if sync is required then one would need to make use of the SYNC pin...
Please clarify.
