Our customer is confirming Supply Current of CDCLVP111. Would you provide the information under the following conditions?

・All outputs terminated 150 Ω to Ground

・Output Frequency 3.84MHz

Hello,

150 ohms to GND output biasing condition should result in 2~3 mA lower current per output pair compared to the 50 ohms to Vcc-2V output biasing condition. A conservative estimate would be to just use the Icc spec from the datasheet.

Thank you for the reply. The Icc spec doesn't depend on the frequency, does it ? Our customer is using at 3.84MHz.

CDCLVPxxx buffer families use differential ECL design with bipolar devices, so the current consumption is relatively constant over frequency (unlike CMOS-based designs).

Not quite. The Icc spec is the sum of Output currents for all 10 outputs + Core (Iee) current.

Here's the calculation:

Icc_per_output = (Icc - Iee) / 10
Icc_N_outputs = Iee + (Icc_per_output * N)

At 25 degC:
Icc _5_outputs = 85mA + [ (380mA - 85mA) / 10) * 5] = 232.5 mA (max)
