LMX2531: root casue of changing SOLDERPASTE in the latest datasheet

Part Number: LMX2531

Hi, Team

My telecom customer is using LMX2531 in their products. They find that solderpaste of pin 12, 13 and 39 are removed in the latest datasheet (Dec 2014).

1. Why solderpaste of pin 12, 13 and 39 are removed?

2. Customer solderpaste is just show below. There is still solder paste of pin 12, 13 and 39 (pin 12, 13 and 39 are floating in PCB). Is it OK? Is there any risk?

  • Hello Kevin
I have forwarded your query to the concerned engineer. The answer might get delayed due to public holidays. Thanks for having patience.

  • Hi Kevin,

We recommend no solder paste for those pins because if the openings are not done right, then there will be too much solder paste. As a result, there are chances that these pins will be shorted together after reflow soldering. We have seen several similar feedback from customers.
You can keep your solder paste as long as you don't have problem after soldering.
