Hi,

I have a question regarding the use of the CDCS501 / CDCS503 in combination with a lvds transmitter for SSC .

We use DVI to lvds conversion according to application note: slla325a

It is possible to put the CDCS503 inbetween the DVI receiver and the lvds transmitter to enable ssc on lvds output?

For the 1-channel lvds transmitter (SN65LVDS93A) this seems to be supported since it lists the feature "Supports Spread Spectrum Clocking (SSC)".

Is this also a possibility for the 2-channel lvds transmitter (DS90C387A)? It does not list support for SSC and lists the features "rejects cycle-to-cycle jitter".

Therefor i would like to know whether SSC generated by CDCS503 can be used with this chip.

I will redirect your question to the High Speed interface forum. CDCS50x is LVCMOS in LVCMOS out SSC generators and if it fulfills the input specs of DS90C387A, it can be used.

Hi Tom,

The DS90C387 does not have SSC compatibility. For a dual implementation, I would recommend using 2 of the SN65LVDS93A devices to meet your requirements.
