LMX2492EVM: LMX2492EVM

Part Number: LMX2492EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CODELOADER, LMX2492, LMX2491

Hello. I have a few questions on this evaluation board.

Whats the connection needed for the evaluation board to generate a linear FMCW signal from 9.4GHz to 9.8GHz? I followed the user guide but i cannot generate a proper waveform.

The user guide uses the RFout/2 as the output, whats the differences between the RFout and RFout/2 on the evaluation board?

Does the OCSin need to be connected?

Should I use Codeloader or TICS pro to change the parameters to generate 9.4GHz to 9.8GHz signal? And how should I use codeloader to generate it?

Much thanks.

  • dear Luo,

thank you for your interest in LMX2492.

The VCO used with this PLL has two outputs: one Fout and the other Fout/2. Both output are accessible with SMA connectors for ease of measurement.

There is an XO on the PCB. You can verify it is working with a scope.

I suggest to use TiCS PRO. There is a seperate page with a GUI to facilitate the generation of ramp. I recommend using that page.

You may also look at LMX2491 (a lower frequency device with the same interface) with great example for ramping.

    Regards, Simon.
