LMK04828: LMK04828

Part Number: LMK04828
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK04826, LMK04821

Hi,

I have 2 questions related to LMK04828:

1) In data sheet that's revised on December 2015, on page 33 there is this figure-11 that shows detailed block diagram of LMK04826 and LMK04828. My question is: What register does control the behavior of "CLKin MUX" on top of page?

2) In the document LMK04826/48 User guide on page 19 in table 7 there is the expression "Internal VCO Frequency should be within the allowable range of the LMK048xxB device. This value is calculated as: VCO Frequency = PLL2 PDF * (PLL2_N * PLL2_P * VCO divider value)." what is this VCO divider value and what registers controls it?

Thank you,

Erdal

  • Hello Erdal,

    1) In data sheet that's revised on December 2015, on page 33 there is this figure-11 that shows detailed block diagram of LMK04826 and LMK04828. My question is: What register does control the behavior of "CLKin MUX" on top of page?
PS: There are three ways to control the mux: Manual Mode, Pin Select Mode and Auto mode. Please refer to the section Input Clock Switching 9.3.5 in the datasheet.

PS: VCO divider is only available in LMK04821. It should be 1 for LMK04828.
PS: I would recommend to use TICSpro software for generating the right settings for LMK devices.

    Best regards
    Puneet
