LMX2592EVM: RF Synthesizer EVMs with non-volatile memory

Part Number: LMX2592EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2592, , LMX2572, LMX2594, LMX2595, LMX2492, LMK61E2

In the "LMX2592 COTS Board" thread on 31 Aug 2016, Michael Robertson52 asked about the LMX2592EVM and non-volatile memory.  The response was that the LMX2592EVM is not offered with non-volatile memory and the recommended solution was to re-program the device each time using a low-cost MCU over SPI.

Is there a comparable device to the LMX2592EVM that TI offers which has non-volatile memory?   I tried using the "compare" tab on the LMX2592 product page but didn't see an option for filtering based on memory and I didn't see an option for comparable/similar devices.  If a device is available, it should ideally match or exceed the capabilities of the LMX2592EVM.

Thanks,

Rob

  • Dear Robert,

excellent question. LMX2592 is a high performance fully integrated synthesizer. Be sure to check LMX2594 LMX2595 and LMX2572 in this family. We do NOT offer this type of product with a EEPROM at this point. depending on your use case, you may find LMK devices that can be used (with EEPROM) but they will not provide the frequency range and the phase noise of the LMX devices.

    I hope this helps,

    Regards, SImon.
  • Rob,

There is no device that is similar to the LMX2492 with non-volatile memory.

There are a few devices that can output a frequency that are much lower frequency that have NVM from the LMK (i.e.LMK61E2) and CDC series products, but they are definitely much different than the LMX2492
