LMK03318: Lock Detect

Hi folks -

Is there a way to tell if the LMK03318 has lost lock after it acquires lock the first time? My understanding is the lock detect only shows the current state, so I'm wondering if there is any register that captures whether lock has toggled.

Hi Jake
The lock detector always shows the current status of the PLL lock. There is no other bit to indicate if the Lock toggled or not.

Puneet - how about via the INTR function or some other interface?

Hello Jake,

yes the interrupt flag can be used for this. It acts like a sticky bit as it has to be cleared explicitely write '0' to the bit.

Here a quick demo of the STAT0 showing the live loss of lock "LOL" for PLL1 and STAT1 showing the respective IRQ signal.
