On R36, the last 7 bits for ‘CHDIV_SEG_SEL’ and ‘CHDIV_SEG3’ I want to be all zeros for PD (Power Down, per below) but I can’t find a way to force it with the TICPro GUI. How is this done?

Is the datasheet in error where for R36 it shows bits 6 thru 0 as 'PD=0' for power down?
Thanks,
Tom
Tom,
I would consider the datasheet misleading, and possibly wrong. Regardless, the simplest and most robust thing to do is set CHDIV_SEG3_EN (not CHDIV_SEG) to power down segment 3. Setting CHDIV_SEG3_EN(R35[8]) = 0, then this is what TICSPro does and this is how we have characterized the part. So this is the most confident method. I know that it will power down segment 3 and any unused muxing circuitry.
Now the datasheet does say that CHDIV_SEG3{R36[3:0]) = 0 is the powerdown state, but I have less confidence. Not only is this not the way we do it in our software and how we characterized this, but I'm not sure if it powers down unused muxing circuitry.
Maybe both methods are equivalent, ir maybe not; I don't know. In my opinion, I would rather the datasheet just say CHDIV_SEG3=0 is an invalid state to prevent confusion as to which method to use to power down the unused segments.

Dean
