CDCV304: Do we have General purpose 1:8 clock buffer (8 outputs)

Part Number: CDCV304
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCVF310, CDCLVC1108, LMK00804B, AWR1243

Dear team,

my customer used CDCV304 as 1:4 trigger distributor, right now he looking for 8 output like the CDCV304 property.

They looked at CDCVF310 but according to the datasheet, the output needs to detect one negative edge in the input CLK.

this character of operation does not meet the customer requirements, Can you please advise another component that similar to CDCV304 operation.

Thanks in advance and regards,

Shai

  • Hi Shai,

    I recommend the CDCLVC1108.

    Kind regards,
    Lane
  • Lane, I forgot to mention that the desired input and output level signal is LVTTL.
    Can the CDCLVC1108 meets that?
    Thanks and regards,
    Shai
  • Lane,

I have read in E2E that TI is planning to distribute clock and trigger signal using TI LMK00804B for cascading awr1243 devices.

    1. What is the status of the LMK00804B as clock distributor instead of the 5PB1104CMGI IDT device?

    2. what is the fan out of SYNC_OUT ?
Can they connect the SYNC_OUT trigger signal to two CDCV304TPWREP, can it connect to two LMK00804B for SYNC_OUT?

If you can answer my questions, I will really appreciate it.

    Thanks and regards,
    Shai
  • Hi Shai,

Q1. What is the status of the LMK00804B as clock distributor instead of the 5PB1104CMGI IDT device?
    A1. LMK00804B is already released: www.ti.com/.../LMK00804B

Q2. what is the fan out of SYNC_OUT ? Can they connect the SYNC_OUT trigger signal to two CDCV304TPWREP, can it connect to two LMK00804B for SYNC_OUT?
A2. It appears that you can connect SYNC_OUT to the CLK_EN pin of LMK00804B to synchronize the outputs. While all of the outputs on one LMK00804B will be synchronized with each other, we can't guarantee the output of one device will be synchronized to the other LMK00804B.
I'm not an expert on AWR1243; if you need any support for that device, please post to the appropriate forum.

Q3. The desired input and output level signal is LVTTL. Can the CDCLVC1108 meets that?
A3. Yes, CDCLVC1108 can support LVTTL signal levels via direct connection to CLKIN when you supply VDD = 3.3V.
LMK00804B also supports a LVTTL input on the LVCMOS_CLK pin.

    Kind regards,
    Lane
