CDCI6214: Dynamic Adjustment capability

Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

Our end customer provided us a procurement spec for us. I found that the CDCI6214 in the block diagram.

Just wondering, Is it having Dynamic Adjustment capability? I mean that when the clock gen. is active. Can we adjust the output frequency a little bit through the GPIO or I2C?

If no, have others solution can share?

Although the CDCI6214 does have digital delay, I do not think it is dynamic; in other words, I thin that you need to SYNC after making a delay adjustment.

Is this the digital delay you were referring to? It seems like we cannot adjust this delay dynamically.

Hi Jim,

if you are looking for frequency adjustment, digital delay will not help as it will not change the clock frequency.
I think there are two ways to adjust the frequency.
(1) Use crystal as the reference clock and then adjust the internal loading capacitor value. The crystal frequency will change a little bit with different load capacitors.
(2) You can use the 24-bit fractional divider to make the output frequency a bit off from exact.
