LMK00105: OSCIN Pin

Part Number: LMK00105

Hi team,

I was wondering if you could clarify a note in the datasheet. If I'm using the LMK00105 with a differential external clock, am I supposed to keep OSCIN pin logic high or low? I have SEL pin tied to GND.

Thanks,

Arthur

  • Aurthur,

Neither is necessary; you can float them both. In section 7.3.2.1, it says when CLKin is selected (SEL=GND), the crystal section is powered down. In other words, if you are concerned that the OSCin pin will oscillate, it won't because it's powered down.

If it makes you feel more comfortable, you can GND OSCin, but I would not GND the OSCout pin.

    Regards,
    Dean
