TPL5010: No reset is generated when WAKE is pulled up accidentally.

Part Number: TPL5010
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC1310

By mistake, I configured CC1310 pin connected to WAKE as output and high level. It will pull WAKE pin to about 700mV when LOW (5mA flowing into WAKE). In this situation(with DONE low), only one RSTn is generated after power-up, then WAKE signal is asserted repeatedly.

This behaviour is a bit confusing and may prevent correct watchdog behavior if some (unlikely) glitch configures pin as output ...

  • Hi Petr,

Thanks for posting on E2E. I personally have not tried this experiment before, and I wanted to thank you for posting your results. This may warrant further investigation at a later date.

It is unintended to configure the MCU pin connected to WAKE as an output. Does the device function properly when the pin is configured as an input?

    Kind regards,
    Lane
  • Hi Lane,

After configuring pin correctly everything works as expected / documented.

This is mainly interesting / surprising behaviour for me. I can use series resistor on WAKE in unlikely case that extreme level of reliability is necessary  ..
