LMX2594: General Questions

Part Number: LMX2594

I am looking at the LMX2594 for a fixed frequency application. However, I have a few questions:

  • Is a layer plot or cad files available for theLMX2594 EVM, eval board? I see them for the multiple PLL board, but the not the eval board I have.
  • I am trying to minimize power draw so I have only 1 output turned on, however I need to distribute the signal to two different connectors. Can I use the RFOUTAM and RFOUTAP to drive two separate modules? I would assume these outputs are 180 deg out of phase and are meant to be combined to get a bit more power out.  Are there concerns? Any idea what the isolation between these two outputs are? I am planning on biasing the outputs with the 18nH and 50 ohm resistor, per the datasheet.

  • LMX2594 Gerber Files for Customer.zipBill,

    Attached is the gerbers.

For using 1 output, you can definitely use this as two single-ended outputs and there will be a 180 degree phase shift.   The main concern is that you want the output loading to look somewhat similar on both so that you can get high harmonics otherwise.

As for isolation, both the plus and minus outputs are always on/off at the same time and always the same frequency, so isolation is not something one would talk about in this kind of situation.

    Regards,
