BQ32000: Please suggest if need this RTC to support backup battery for 10 years life cycle

Hi team,

My customer needs the RTC with backup battery which can support 10 years life cycle, could you please suggest the Li-battery capacity to meet this requirement?

    The battery capacity will depend on your current draw. When you are running off the backup supply at room temp, the backup supply current is 1.5uA.

    If you want to operate off of the backup supply for 10 years, the battery capacity must be 1.5e-3 mA * 10 years * 365 days/year * 24 hours/day = 131.4 mAh.

    If we assume there are are other factors that will impact battery life, we may want to choose a slightly larger battery. In this example, we can multiply by a factor of 1.4 to get a minimum battery capacity of 184 mAh.
