WEBENCH® Tools/LMX2572LP: TI PLL Platinum Sim

Part Number: LMX2572LP

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi.
I'll would like to use the LM2572 to generate a fixed oscillator at 1030MHz using a 10MHz reference. My first  idea is using a 103 divider to work at 10MHz at frequency detector. I'm triying to evaluate the phase noise performances of LM2572 using the TLPLLPlantimum SW, but  when I select the configuration showed in the figure,  the box for the output frequency at the fvco and the output is on red. Could it  be possible to use this part in this configuration? or  we have to generate a higher frequency at the internal VCO and use the divider to get the final lower frequency. I have tryed to  attach the .sim file and  the phase noise reference characteristics but it couldn't make it  so I put  a picture with a screen capture.
Thanks in advance.

  • Diego,
PLLatinum Sim is right to color this box red as it clearly shows the VCO range is 3200 to 6400 MHz.

If you want 1030 MHz output, type this in the Fout box and it will automatically show you the correct setting of the VCO being at 4120 MHz with the divider set to 4.

    Regards,
    Dean
