LMK04906: About DC coupling and AC coupling of CLKin, OSCin

Part Number: LMK04906

Hi all.

I would like to the different between "Single-Ended Termination"(Figure 24) and "DC Coupled LVCMOS/LVTTL Reference Clock" (Figure 25).
What is definition of single-end?
I think LMK04906's recommended termination is AC coupling when clock source is single-end, If we refer to Figure 25 with using single-end. In this case, is it any issue?

Sorry, I would like to get your comment as soon as possible.

Best regards,
Sho

  • Hi Sho,

I have assigned a responsible engineer to the post, he will respond soon. In the meantime, I will try to help here.

A single-ended clock source means that it is not a differential signal, such as LVDS / LVPECL / HCSL / CML.

It is recommended to use AC-coupling if the single-ended clock source is a sine wave, such as in Figure 24.
Otherwise, you can use AC-coupling or DC-coupling.
    I hope this information helps.

    Kind regards,
    Lane
