CDCV304: length limit

Hi Team,

My customer wants use this part and they want to know this device output length limit.

from my understanding we can calculate length limit by knowing signal speed and the max capacitance allowed for the transmission,

may I asked for the max capacitance value or is there's any way to calculate the output length limit? please kindly give suggestion ,thanks!

This is the holday season and I'm not the expert on this device, but I'll give it a try.

In section 5.6 in the electrical specs, they specify CL = 10 pF.

Hi Andy,

Not a simple calculation, it need a simulation. CDCV304 web page provides an IBIS model, it could be used for signal integrity simulation.

CDCV304 IBIS Model Version 1.2 (Rev. D)

Many EDA softwares can support IBIS model. It is beyond clocks.

For the simulation result, we should focus on period information (Tr/Tf, frequency, duty cycle etc.) and amplitude information (Voh,Vol etc.). The limitations also depends on receivers requirements.
