TICSPRO-SW: FRAC_ORDER setting

Part Number: TICSPRO-SW
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2581

Hello,

There is a FRAC_ORDER setting in LMX2581 of TICSpro. I think 2nd_order or 3rd_order is selected in Fractional mode and Reserved is selected in Integer mode. Could I understand correctly?

Best regards,

Toshihiro Watanabe

  • Toshiro-san,

State 0 is integer mode. Reserved (4) is 4th order modulator. But we defined it away as "reserved" because the illegal divide ratios it introduced was a problem in some cases and we did not see a significant enough spur benefit.

I am not sure about the other reserved states, but they should not be used and there is no benefit to using them. They do not open up any new capabilities for the device.

    Regards,
    Dean
