CDCE913: Absolute Maximum Ratings for SCL/S2 and SDA/S1 pins

Part Number: CDCE913
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCEL913

Hello,

My customer has a question about SCL/S2 and SDA/S1 pins in CDCE913 and CDCEL913.

[Background]

It is written in A as follows.

  • Absolute Maximum Ratings - VI = -0.5V(min), VDD+0.5V(max)
    • Note(3) : SDA and SCL can go up to 3.6V as stated in the Recommended Operating Conditions table.
  • Recommended Operating Conditions VI(S) Input voltage range S1, S2, SDA, SCL = 0V(min), 3.6V(max)
  • Electrical Characteristics - SDA/SCL PARAMETER - VIH >= 0.7+VDD, VIL <= 0.3*VDD
    • Note(6) : SDA and SCL pins are 3.3V tolerant

[Q]

Is my understanding correct ?

<My understanding>

SCL/S2 pin and SDA/S1 pin can apply 3.6V(max).

It does not depend on whether it is set to I2C or GPIO.

These pins are 3.3V tolerant. Therefore It can apply 3.6V(max) in the state of VDD=0V.
