CDCE62002: Inrush Current

Part Number: CDCE62002

Hi,

I can see Inrush Current on 3.3V rail of CDCE62002.

I think the capacitance on REG_CAP pin causes the inrush current. Because removing the capacitance , Inrush Current is reduced.

It is around 0.8A. Is it acceptable?  Please let me know the absolute maximum rating.

  • Hello Masaaki-san,

I would agree, the in-rush current is associated with the 10 uF caps on the REG_ pins. Being the EVM, I consider this acceptable as a design.

As for the maximum, I could not say as this will be a function of the capacitors used.

If you want to try to limit the current, you could consider using a series resistor provided that the IR drop will be acceptable in your final operating current level.

  • Hi,
In our custom board, the caps on REG_CAP pins are same as EVM that is 10uF.
I understand that this inrush current is acceptable to CDCE62002.
    Thank you.

    Best Regards.
