CDCEL913: EEPROM check

Part Number: CDCEL913
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCEL9XXPROGEVM,

Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

As title, we would like to know is possible  to make CDCE (L) 913 burned in  EEPROM when shipped.

Let 16.384MHz be Input, and 24MHz can be generated without I2C.

Or are there any other suggested methods?

Thanks!!

  • Hello Shu-Cheng,

You are asking if EEPROM programmed when shipped from our factory? To my understanding no. I'll check with our team to see if there is anything I'm missing.

There is a socketed programming EVM which could be used to program the CDCE(L)913. Please see: CDCEL9XXPROGEVM

Sometimes a distributor can do this function for you but I don't have one I can recommend.

  • Hi Sirs,

    Thanks for your reply.

So, If  TI factory couldn't , can we possible burn in on customer side when we shipping?

If yes, how to do it.

  • Hello Shu-Cheng,

The CDCEL913 can be programmed by two-wire interface (I2C or SMBus) in-system.  This sounds like a good solution for you.  I wasn't able to find anymore info for programming services for you.

As for performing the in-system EEPROM programming, at a minimum you would connect the SDA/SCL/GND lines to a header, attach and program.  Please refer to the datasheet for more information on this.  See sections 8.3.3 SDA/SCL Serial Interface, 8.3.4 Data Protocol, and associated register map in section 8.6.
