Hi Team,

I believe LMK03328 first power ups loading one of the EEPROM or ROM data to the registers, based on the HW_SW_CTRL pin and GPIOx pin settings.

During the device is loading register data from EEPROM or ROM, I think you could not access to the registers externally.

Is there any way to understand whether the EEPROM/ROM loading is done or a certain wait which should be taken before I2C access after power up ?

Hello Kawai,

Please refer to section 12.2 of the LMK03328 datasheet. The duration for this depends on the customer supply ramp time.

Hi Vibhu-san,

I believe this section only describes the use case of Xtal input and does not describes about the time of EERPOM data loading to the register map.

Hello Kawai-san,

According to table 8.19 the maximum time for start-up (XTAL or CLK input) is 10ms. This does not include power up ramp time as mentioned in table 12.2.

Hi Vibhu-san,

Could you please allow me to clarify the device condition when table 8.19 is characterized ?
Isn't the register data using the "device register default setting" ?

My thought is that if the register information is loaded from the EEPROM, it would have different wait time.
Or, is it also loading the "register default setting" from the EEPROM ?

Another question is that if the device does not have the reference input, it seems I2C access is rejected from the flow chart, am I correct ?

Hello Kawai-san,

The 10 ms should apply to both EEPROM and register default settings.

If there is no reference input, the LOS will be high. However, I2C is still enabled in soft-pin mode and you can re-configure your registers.
