In the typical application schematic on page 27 of the LMX2491 datasheet shows the output of the VCO being fed back to pin 4 (FIN) of the PLL. I purchased the LMX2492EVM eval board. The schematic for the eval board shows the VCO output being fed back into pin 5 (FIN*) of the PLL.
Is there any functional difference between feeding back to FIN or FIN*? How would I decide which is best for my application?
