CDCI6214: best programming method

Part Number: CDCI6214
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

question about programming this device. What would be the easiest way to put the design we generated in the TICS Pro software onto the CDCI6214? Can I take the hex file the software generated and write that into one of the EEPROM pages and have the device boot form there or is there a simpler/better method?

  • Hi Carl,

I saw that you asked the same question via email. Can you please close this ticket and we'll continue in the email.

  • Hi Carl,

Since this is a general question, let's discuss it here on e2e instead. After going through the email chain, my understanding is that the customer has built their own EVM and wants to know how to configure their own board using Ticspro, is that correct?

If that's the case, the customer can simply blue wire SCK, SCL, and GND lines from USB2ANY to their board. These three signals are all what Ticspro need to configure the part. Below graph shows the pin definition of USB2ANY. You can blue wire pin 1, 2 and 5 of J4. The little rectangle on the top means the slot of USB2ANY box. I've used the three-wire method with USB2ANY and Ticspro many times and there's no problem with it. Let me know if you have any other questions.
