LMX2595: LMX2595: a question about the configuration of MUXout pin

Part Number: LMX2595

Hi TI partner,

I have a question about the configuration of MUXout pin, in page 7, there is a description that  Multiplexed output pin — lock detect, readback, diagnostics, ramp status. Does this mean thar MUXout pin can be set to be  showing the status for lock detect, readback, diagnostics, ramp status? but in the datasheet, there is just a description that about how to be set to showing lock detect, readback,  and there isn't any content about how MUXout pin to be configured as diagnostics, ramp status?  so does this mean MUXout  can't support the function of showing status of diagnostics, ramp status? could you give me a feedback? thanks.

  • Hi Stephen,

MUXOUT pin can be configured as either "lock detect" output or "register readback" output.

In addition to read back all the written register values, there are several diagnostic-type of read-only registers available, such as VCO parameters and lock detect status.

For example, you can set MUXOUT=1 so that the MUXOUT pin is a lock detect output pin. You will get either HIGH or LOW from this pin.

You can also set MUXOUT=0, the MUXOUT pin will become a serial data output pin. Your MCU can decode the readback data to check the status of lock (register R110).
