LMX2594: Absolute rating on digital interface pin

Part Number: LMX2594

Hello team,

I have a question about absolute maximum rating of LMX2594 digital interface pins.

There is no such information in datasheet, so could you please let me know the information in terms of voltage rating and current rating?

Best regards,

  • Hello,

Please limit the ABS Max voltage on I/Os to less than Vcc + 0.3V.

There is no max current typically provided beyond the electrical characteristics as the I/O's are ESD protected.

    Regards,

  • Hello Liam-san,

    Thank you for the comment.

Could you please let me know a mechanism of damage caused by the voltage exceeding? I would like to understand correctly this because there is no absolute rating table on the datasheet for the digital pin.

I think there are diodes on the pins for ESD structure. Can I think Vcc+0.3V requirement is for the diode to be avoided much current flow when exceeding the voltage? If so, could you please let me know its recommended forward current?

    Best regards,

  • Hello,

Yes, this is to prevent turning on ESD structures and avoid biasing up the device through non-supply pin.

We don't typically provide abs max values on current for digital pins, only voltage.

    Regards,
