LMK05028: Formula 17 Calculation

Part Number: LMK05028

Hi, Team,

For DCO frequency step size, we would like to double check the correspondence of GUI and formula 17.

In our understanding FDEV is DPLLy_FDEV. Is Reqd_ppb target(ppb)? What is difference between Target(ppb) and Actual(ppb)? We would like to calculate the Δf (differential frequency value)

  • Hello,

We are looking more into your question and expect a response in the next 2 days.

    Thank you

  • Hello Yone-san,

It seems that because of the software bug we are working to correct for TCXO / APLL mode, the actual/FDEV values are not being updated for entry into target ppb.

The intention is that when entering a value into the target (ppb), then an FDEV is calculated as per the equation 17.  Of course the FDEV must be an integer number, so the actual reports what the actual ppb shift is in case of rounding.

You will be able to calculate an FDEV value using EQ17, then enter that number into the FDEV box and see the FDEV delta based on your entry.  Just the helpful calculations are broken at the moment until we update TICS Pro.

  • HI, Timothy,

Thanks!! That's means there is no meaning to enter the target for now. The FDEV value will be calculated automatically when we run script if TICS pro work well ,right?

Correct.  But FDEV still works, just you have to calculate actual ppb manually.

Anytime you update the target, it will re-calculate.  We will fix this soon for the TCXO / APLL use case.
