LMK03328: ESD Protection Diode at PDN pin

Hi Team,

I would like to clarify about the PDN pin ESD protection diode that to which power rail it is connected to.

Based on the datasheet page 143 below, there is 200kOhm internal pull up to VDDO_01 for PDN pin.
VDDO_01 could be used as split supply and the voltage could be 3.3V, 2.5V, or 1.8V.

The datasheet states the absolute maximum rating for logic input pins are MAX = "VDD+0.3V".
However, since I was able to see the diode characteristic from PDN pin to VDDO_xx pin using the EVM,
I wanted to clarify whether the ESD diode is connected to this "VDDO_01" or "VDD_DIG (which is always 3.3V)".

Hello Kawai,

Based on the datasheet it looks like PDN is connected to VDDO_01. In the datasheet section 12.2 Device Power Up Timing it states this, "The POR monitor holds the device in powerdown/reset until the VDD supply voltage reaches 2.72 V (min) to 2.95 V (max) and VDDO_01 reaches 1.7 V (min)."

Could you please confirm the device designer the ESD protection design for PDN pin ? We need to clarify this.

Hello Kawai,

As conveyed offline, a 150 uA current should not cause an issue with the ESD diode. A 4.7 kohm pull-up on PDN is ok.
