CDC337: looking for lower power consumption clock buffer with 5 fanout

Hello team,

my customer is doing a design based on battery, he looking for clock buffer for CMOS signal that supports 40Mhz and 5 fanout (4 Same Frequency and one Divide-By-2) solution with lower phase noise and lower power consumption as much as possible.

Could you please recommend me any suitable solutions, the CDC337 looks kinda old and I am sure that are newer solutions available from TI?

Hi,

Could you please provide the phase noise information of the CDC337 clk buffer.

Just to let you know I have found this lmk01801 which it may fit as well.
It seems to have even a cheaper price tag than CDC337 and if we use BANK A there are two sectors CG1 and CG2 which one of them can act as a divider for two.
Please let me know if this device is recommended for my requirements above, Thanks in advance

Hi Shai,

My apologies for not returning back to this thread faster.

The LMK01801 appears to fit your needs and the noise floor information is seen in figure 5-6.

Hi Rob,

The LMK01801 is LVDS and we need (single) CMOS input.
Could you please provide another option, please take into account the power consumption?

secondly, I would like to get the information about the phase noise of the CDC337 buffer device as well, Thanks in advance.

Hi Shai,

I do not have phase noise info on the CDC337 and it would take a while to get this.

We do have the CDCE925 which is a clock generator but it can be used as a buffer with a /2 function. It is not as good on power consumption as a buffer only would be, but it is our only option with a /2 output besides CDC337.
