LMX2595: DBLR_IBIAS_CTRL1 value for 20GHz

Part Number: LMX2595

Hello team,

I have a question about phase noise performance with new DBLR_IBIAS_CTRL1 value.

Datasheet says 3115 as new value of the register extends the output frequency range and improves high frequency performance.

However looking at figure 57 for phase noise floor, new(3115) setting seems have worse performance than old(1572) setting where above 19GHz.

Is the figure correct or just a typo?

Best regards,

  • Hi Taketo-san,

Thanks for catching that. It's indeed a mistake. The 3115 curve and 1572 curve should be swapped. When set to 3115, both noise floor and output power are improved. When set to 1572, the device does not function properly above 19GHz. That's why the noise floor is so bad.

    Regards,
    Hao
