TICSPRO-SW: TICSPRO-SW not updating register values

Part Number: TICSPRO-SW
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2594

I'm trying to use TICSPRO-SW v1.6.10.0 to create a configuration file for LMX2594. What I noticed is that R0 in the Raw Registers tab is not updated when I changed the PLL settings.

For example when I load the default configuration R0 shows 0x00251C which makes sense since R0[8:7] is 2'b10 because Fpd is set to 200 MHz. Now if I change the Fpd to 100MHz by disabling the Doubler and go back to the Raw Register tab, R0 still shows the same value as before.

This is just an example. For my application I'm configuring the PLL differently. But I saw the same behavior of R0 not updating properly according to Fpd.

Is this normal?

Regards,

Jerry

  • Hi Jerry,

The Doubler is not in R0, it is in R9.

    R0[8:7] is FCAL_HPFD_ADJ.

In the menu bar, click Options, make sure AutoUpdate is checked.

  • Thanks Noel. I wasn't saying Doubler is in R0 if you read what I wrote. I changed Fpd from the default 200 MHz to 100 MHz by disabling the Doubler, so one would expect the setting R0[8:7] FCAL_HPFD_ADJ to change from 2'b10to 2'b01, but this is not happening.

    1: 100 MHz< fPD≤150 MHz2: 150 MHz< fPD≤200 MHz

    2: 150 MHz< fPD≤200 MHz

    And I have AutoUpdate enabled.

    Any more ideas?

    Regards,

    Jerry

  • Hi Jerry,

FCAL_HPFD_ADJ will not be updated, you need to set it to match the fpd manually.

All the registers in the Raw Register page will be automatically updated according to the set value in other pages.
