we have a clock lines (diff pair) coming from backplane which is always on. This clock is going to our ASIC on a pluggable line card. We want to protect the ASIC during hot-plug event.

Also after the line card is plugged-in to the chassis, ASIC will not be powered for a few seconds. The clock lines will be driving a cold IO.

Is there any solution that can protect the device in these conditions?

Hello Dilip,

I apologize for the delay.

I suggest using a buffer such as DS25BR150 as suggested in this post to protect the input from hot-swap.
