LMK04828: Register settings for a particular configuration

Part Number: LMK04828

Hello,

I am trying to use TSW40RFx EVM with the following clock configuration.

The reference clock is 122.88 MHz.

O/p clocks are as follows.

1. 122.88 MHz.

2. 245.76 MHz

3. 2457.6 MHz.

How do I generate the register settings for this configuration?

Please let me know.

Mallesh

  • Suggest to use GUI TICS Pro firstly, which can show input and output frequencies.

After done settings in TICS Pro, then you can understand LMK04828 settings in TSW40RF8x EVM GUI. Just copy them by manual.

  • Shawn,

Given a set of register values, how do I calculate the frequencies at DCLKOUT0?

There are no equations given for the PLL o/p frequencies in the datasheet.

    Maybe I am missing something.

    Please let me know.

    Mallesh

  • Register values only store dividers information, do not include frequency information.

Here is a method to load registers into GUI TICS Pro.

1, Save LMK04828 register values in a txt file, for example, "LMK04828Reg.txt".

2, TICS Pro ---> File ----> Export hex register values ---- > "HexRegisterValues.txt", the file name could be changed.

3, Use a text edit tool to edit files in step 1 and step 2. Do not change "HexRegisterValues.txt" format, only copy register value from "LMK04828Reg.txt" to "HexRegisterValues.txt". All done, save as the new "HexRegisterValues.txt".

4, TICS Pro ----> Tab "CLKin and PLLs" --- > Input CLKinx frequencies and VCXO frequency as your application

5, TICS Pro ---> File ----> Import hex register values ---- > new "HexRegisterValues.txt". Now, the GUI will show the correct output frequencies
