LMK03328: Max current consumption and output port setting

Part Number: LMK03328

Hi Team,

Would you advise the inquiry below?

・ Current consumption
"8.6 Electrical Characteristics-Power Supply" is described on page 8 of the data sheet.
Is the maximum current consumption during operation the total of IDD-IN, IDD-PLL1, 2, IDD-DIG, IDDO_01, _23, _4, _5, and _6 on page 9?
What do the IDDs and IDDOs on page 8 mean?

・ About output port
If you look at the "10.2 Functional Block Diagram" on page 29 of the data sheet, OUT0 & 1, 2 & 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 can be set for the output frequency independently, but is that correct?
Is there any effect on other port settings?
Thanks
Best regards,
Shidara
  • 1,lDD: Core Current Consumption, including currents from VDD_IN , VDD_PLL1, VDD_PLL2, VDD_DIG

IDDO: IDDO Output Current Consumption, including currents from VDDO_x

Page 9 just shows an example case. Refer to Page 9, but use data in Page 8 to estimate power consumption for your application.

2, Yes, your are right. There are 6 individual output dividers.

For different output frequencies and VCO sources, consider output crosstalk, refer to below figure.

Put same frequency clocks, or non-jitter-sensitive clocks together.

  • Thank you for your reply.
Let me ask you additional questions.
    1,Is p9, not p8, showing an example?
What is the maximum current consumption when using 8 ports and 2PLL?
    78+168+130+60+108+108+75+75+75+75=952mA?
2,Should crosstalk be considered for different output frequencies for the same VCO sources?
    Best regards
  • Thank you for your reply.
I will ask you an additional question.
    1,Is p8, not p9, showing an example?
What is the maximum current consumption when using 8ports and 2pll?
2,Is it better to consider crosstalk when outputting different frequencies with the same VCO?
    Best regards
  • 1, Refer to the latest LMK03328 datasheet.

    2, Yes.
