LMX2592EVM: Unable to generate 5120MHz output clock

Part Number: LMX2592EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2592

Hello,

We have a customer that has a concern as below:

I'm trying to generate 5120MHz from lmx2592 output. I'm using 122.88MHz as input frequency and setting up internal VCO to 5120MHz. I was able to get 2560MHz out from Channel divide, but we need 5120MHz through VCO mux output. The screen shot of TICS Pro setup is attached along with register dump that I used to setup LMX2592. Please advice - how can I generate 5120MHz through VCO MUX output?

Regards,

Roland

  • Hi Roland,

It doesn't seem there are issues with your register settings, except for I don't like to use 1st order MASH_ORDER. But this is not related to your problem.

I don't know why it does not work. Before I go to the lab to verify this, would you please check whether you would get 5120MHz from both channel simultaneously?

  • Hello Noel,

We have reached out to our customer and here is what they have shared:

"I just verified that I'm not getting any clock out with both channel enabled concurrently @ 5120MHz."

    Appreciate your help.

    Regards,

    Roland

  • Hi Roland,

I just verified this with my board, I don't have problem generate 2560MHz at both outputs; 5120MHz at both outputs; 2560MHz at RFoutA and 5120MHz at RFoutB simultaneously. I was using their configuration setting.
