LMX2571: max DEN for FSK

Hello,

i'm using FSK bit mode for the LMX2571. There is a statement in the Manual about bit FSK_EN in register 24: "Enables FSK operation in all FSK operation modes. When this

bit is set, fractional denominator DEN should be zero." We can't use DEN=0 because we use big frequency deviation 360 kHz. Is it safe to use DEN not zero?

Hi Alex,

Set DEN=0 is to ensure that you can get both positive and negative signs of the deviation. You can set DEN not equal to 0, depending on your configuration, it may be the cases that you can get positive sign but not negative sign of deviation.

Furthermore, 360kHz deviation seems very big, unless your fpd is small, otherwise this amount of deviation may not be achievable.
