CDCI6214: I2C intermittent operation.

Hi. We are using I2C at 100KHz to read register values from a CDCI6214. Occasionally (~1:50) the CDCI6214 will not issue an ACK.

The I2C is in spec.

As can be seen, the slave address(0x76) is ACK'ed okay, but the writing of the high address byte (0x00) gets no ACK.

Has anybody else experienced this?

Hi Dave,

Unfortunately I haven't had this kind of problem before, but it does look like that setup/hold time might not be met (like this post: https://e2e.ti.com/support/clock-and-timing/f/48/t/858572?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=CDCE913%20I2C).

Also, please first program the device in fallback mode so that the device powers up from fallback default. To do so, float both EEPROMSEL pin and REFSEL pin. In fallback mode, the slave address is 0x74.
