LMK04828: LMK02828 LVDS output

Part Number: LMK04828

I have a LMK04828 that is connected to an AD9690 ADC using LVDS. I inherited the design but I am a bit concerned regarding the LVDS levels. The datasheet states that the LMK diff output voltage is 395mV. But the ADC requires 600mV to 1.8V. Can someone confirm my fears that this wont work as it is? If so does anyone have good solution that I can use? Thanks

  • Hello Joe,

What types of issue are you encountering?

For higher Vpp signal it is possible to also configure outputs to HSDS mode  which will give a higher output swing level and has similar 560 ohm termination to LVDS.

Please see section 9.1.10.6 in the datasheet.  Table 22 shows the applicable programming registers.

HSDS should also provide a better noise floor compared to LVDS as shown in the Electrical Characteristics.

    Regards,
