LMX2594EVM: Frequency Running

Hi Support :

We have received the LMX2594EVM and generate the 6650MHz signal, however , the signal will free-run within +/-3KHz. Lock indicator LED is green lighting. Below is our set up and register setting. Please assist to check the frequency draft, thanks

Can you please describe what you mean when you say "free-run within +/-3KHz"?

Is the PLL still locked when you see this?

Are you using the reference pro for the input as indicated in the figure?

Hi Support :

1.The signal run within +/-3KHz in red line range as below picture,however, the Lock indicator LED show green lighting. Is it in lock condition ?

2.I use the reference pro for the input as reference signal

Hi Aaron,

The phase noise of the signal looks good, I believe it is locked. The drifting may be came from the reference clock.

You can try with a signal generator as the reference clock source to verify this.
