LMX2491: Sample TICS Pro Configuration file for CW mode

Part Number: LMX2491

My goal is to use the TICS pro to find the register values that will be configured to set the PLL with a CW frequency.

Could I provide a sample configuration file for setting the PLL at a CW mode of 5GHz ( frequency can be any value for the sample )?

  • Hello Mayank,

Yes, you can generate what you are looking for through TICSPro. Please download the software, use the toolbar to navigate to the device Select Device -> PLL _> LMX2491. Now use the tool bar to load the default configuration.

The default configuration is for 6 GHz but simply changing the VCO frequency (in the PLL section of the GUI to 5000 MHz) will change the register settings.

You can then export the register settings again using the toolbar File -> Export hex register values

    Thanks,

    Vibhu

  • Thanks, Vibhu . So the default setting is CW tone ?

Also, could you also suggest if there is an FMCW configuration example?

  • Hi mayank,

Without enabling the frequency ramping function, the PLL will simply function as a regular PLL and the output is a CW tone.

Please check the datasheet section 8, there are couples application example.
