Part Number: BQ32000
Hi team,
We use the BQ32000DR and asked Crystal factory help test frequency and output amplitude.
But it's just +/-90mV output amplitude as below figure.
Does it work normally?
If not, do you have suggestions?
Thank you!

Hi Zoe,
The amplitude seems very small. Typically, I offer to capture a bench measurement, but due to COVID-19 I would not be able to capture it soon.
Let me investigate internally and I'll get back if I locate some information.
Are you observing any functionality issues due to the amplitude?
Does the crystal meet the specifications outlined in table 6.3?
Let me ask some questions about the measurement. How is OSCO measured? What kind of probe and channel settings? Have other crystals been measured?
Kind regards,
Lane
Hi Lane,
I asked ZOE to help me ask this question, so I will answer your questions,
1.We have not found a functional issue.
2.Crystal meets specifications.
3.Crystal factory report does not provide measurement methods, but does provide equipment.
A. S&A 250B
B. QWA-4 QUARTZ WATCH/CLOCK ANALYZER
C. ITC-1 INTELLIGENT COUNTER
D. TEKTRONIX TDS2022 OSCILLOSCOPE
E. TEKTRONIX Active Probe P6243
F. TEKTRONIX Power Supply Probe Tek1103
4.We used TEKTRONIX Active Probe P6245 to directly measure the crystal on the 3 PCS PCBA with an amplitude of only +/-50mV. The measurement result is different from Crystal factory.
Thanks for the information. It is good to know that the are no issues with the operation.
In this case, the measurement seems OK, and you are using a probe with low capacitance. I think the measurement result is good.
For verification, we can try to measure it in our lab as well. However, due to the current situation with COVID-19 and shelter in place, we may not be able to complete this soon
Kind regards,
Lane
