AM6546: Reference input Selection for Ethernet Clock Buffer in EVM

Hi,

We are using AM6546 Design as reference for our design based on AM6546.

We are also using the CDCLVC1310RHBR Buffer for Ethernet Clock Inputs.

We are using an External Oscillator to provide 25MHz single ended LVCMOS Clock input to CDCLVC1310RHBR.

We want to know what we should set for the input Mode(IN_SEL0, IN_SEL1) in the above case.

    Hi Tauseef,

    You can connect the oscillator as shown in datasheet Figure 3. If you connect the oscillator to PRI_INx,use IN_SEL0=IN_SEL1 = LOW, as indicated in Table 1

    Hi Lane,

    Attached is the Circuit Design for the Buffer:

    Note: MCU_CLKOUT is not connected in Design.

    We have connected the Oscillator to XIN referring to the datasheet section as attached.

    Please verify if the Circuit used is correct. Please let us know if any changes required.

    Request you to reply as soon as possible as we are already at completing the Layout.

    Hi Tauseef,

    You will need to ac-couple the oscillator input as mentioned in the datasheet section above Figure 13. Also, make sure to use decoupling capacitors on the supply pins.
