LMK05028: Configure LMK05028 directly through USB2ANY

Part Number: LMK05028
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Hi,

I am using LMK05028 on my board and i am looking for a way to configure it to allow convenient debug. The eval board for this device has MCU on board where USB2ANY connects to that MCU which generates I2C commands to LMK05028. I was wondering if its possible to connect USB2ANY dongle somehow directly to my onboard LMK05028 I2C pins and still use TICSpro GUI.  Could you please let me know?

Thank you

Dan

  • Hi Dan,

Yes, you may use a USB2ANY dongle to connect to the LMK05028 on your board so that TICSpro GUI can still be used. For I2C, connections to SCL/SDA line plus ground are required.

I'm not sure if a header is feasible or not on your board, but that's generally how we've done it on boards where we've used external dongle to communicate with device. 12 pin header will work. I've put the picture from evm user guide below. And the 12 pin ribbon cable can be used to communicate to the chip.
