LMX2594: Some question about using this chip

Part Number: LMX2594

These days I am working on LMX2594's registers configuration. And some questions occur:

1. When I am about to output a single frequency signal, it can generate accurately only in VCO no assist and partial assist mode. When full assist is set the output frequency is not the anticipate frequency. Why this happened?

2. When I use automatic ramp mode, it always generates signals with frequency offset, meanwhile, in ramp mode, the difference between max and min power can reach upto about 10dBm, is this a normal condition?

I'm waiting for the solution. Thank you!

  • Hello Jiang,

To use full assist you must first use one of the other modes, readback register values and then program them in full assist, is this the procedure you are using? Please refer to Table 5 in the datasheet.

The change in power can determine on the range of the frequencies you are sweeping across as the power does change across frequency.

    Thanks,

    Vibhu
